Some love stories begin with a chance meeting. Others begin with a perfectly timed swing.
For Allyson and David, it all started with a match on Hinge and a first date that combined two of their favorite things—great food and golf. After dinner at Chelsea Market, they headed to Chelsea Piers to hit golf balls, where Allyson delivered an unforgettable shot straight into the trunk of the ball-collecting cart. From that moment on, they were inseparable.
Just a few weeks later, they made things official at a New York Giants game, beginning a relationship built on laughter, adventure, and shared passions. In May 2025, that journey led them to The Reserve at Perona Farms, where they celebrated their marriage surrounded by the people who have supported them every step of the way.

When it came time to propose, David knew he had to outsmart the family’s planner.
While Allyson was traveling in Asia for work, David asked her parents for their blessing before quietly coordinating with her family behind the scenes. Together, they convinced Allyson to organize family photos during their summer vacation in Nags Head, North Carolina, under the pretense of creating Christmas gifts for their grandparents.
After taking a few family portraits on the beach, the photographer stepped back as David got down on one knee.
With Allyson’s family by her side and David’s parents watching from a nearby beach access point, the proposal became a beautiful surprise shared by the people who meant the most to them.

Nestled in the rolling hills of northern New Jersey, The Reserve at Perona Farms provided the perfect backdrop for Allyson and David’s elegant spring wedding.
Their celebration embraced a timeless aesthetic with romantic white florals, soft blush accents, candlelight, and lush greenery. The classic palette paired beautifully with blush and rose quartz bridesmaid dresses, creating a refined and welcoming atmosphere throughout the ceremony and reception.
The Reserve’s bright interiors, grand windows, and beautiful grounds allowed every floral detail to feel effortlessly elegant while showcasing the venue’s signature charm.

Every wedding is most memorable when it reflects the couple behind it, and Allyson and David thoughtfully incorporated personal touches throughout the day.
Because golf has played such a meaningful role in their relationship since their very first date, guests signed golf balls instead of a traditional guest book, creating a keepsake they’ll treasure for years to come. Their seating chart featured golf flags, another playful nod to the hobby that first brought them together.
Perhaps the most sentimental detail of all was the venue itself.
Years earlier, Allyson’s grandparents had celebrated their own marriage at Perona Farms. Returning to the same property to begin their next generation’s story made the day even more meaningful and created a beautiful connection between past and present.
The couple also ended the evening with a private last dance—one final quiet moment together before beginning married life.

For their floral design, the vision centered around timeless romance.
Classic white roses, soft seasonal blooms, and lush greenery created arrangements that felt fresh, elegant, and enduring. From the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers and reception centerpieces, each design enhanced the beauty of The Reserve while allowing the couple’s story to remain the focus.
The soft blush tones woven throughout the wedding party complemented the floral palette beautifully, creating a cohesive look that felt sophisticated without being overly formal.
At Thistle Bee Florist, we love creating floral designs that feel effortless and personal—flowers that elevate the celebration while reflecting the couple’s unique style.

When asked what they were most looking forward to, Allyson and David didn’t mention the décor or even the dance floor.
They were excited to have everyone they love together in one place.
With family and friends spread across the country, their wedding became more than a celebration—it was a rare opportunity to gather generations, reconnect with lifelong friends, and welcome loved ones to New Jersey for an unforgettable weekend.
Those shared moments are what made the day truly special.

One of the best pieces of advice Allyson and David shared was to stay organized while remembering to enjoy the planning process.
Rather than treating every decision as another item on a checklist, they turned many planning milestones into date days—from cake tastings to choosing music.
It’s a simple reminder that planning your wedding is part of the story, too.
Finding ways to celebrate the journey together can make the months leading up to your wedding just as meaningful as the day itself.

The Reserve at Perona Farms continues to be one of our favorite New Jersey wedding venues because of its timeless architecture, beautiful natural light, and versatility for every wedding style.
