For our next Thistle Bee Team Spotlight, we are featuring Kathleen Herrman, our Logistics Manager & Lead designer (and Katherine’s mom)! Since 2013, Kathleen has kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Without her, Thistle Bee wouldn’t be where it was today.
“As her mother, (and friend), I have so much joy in being a part of this business. I love watching how much the company has grown in the past 10 years. We are the dynamic duo of this company and the backbone of all the weddings that are produced.”
We love this daughter-mother duo and can’t wait for you to learn more about Kathleen!
My favorite flowers are the ones I have never seen before—there are so many beautiful varieties of roses and tropical flowers. I love when a bride decides, with Katherine’s help, to pick something different! We get to discover new flowers and bring out the beauty in the bride’s vision.
Disney world! Maybe it’s just the creative part of me, the love of all things imagination, or the whimsical way a trip to Disney can leave you feeling creatively recharged that I love going there the most. The food is always delicious and there’s something for everyone to enjoy in our family. The warm Florida weather can’t be beaten, especially when we go down to visit in the wedding off-season!
I love a good Netflix series or an interesting movie! We are currently watching the collection of shows and spin-offs from Yellowstone, which has my husband and I hooked! Otherwise, we enjoy British shows like Peaky Blinders, Outlander, and Alice in Borderland.
When not working or binging Netflix, I love golfing—you can’t beat a beautiful day on the golf course!
Before going full-time working at Thistle Bee, I was a labor and delivery nurse. Much like working at the hospital, I still have the joy of being beside couples on one of the happiest days of their life. Running the logistics for a wedding day is a lot like how I use to run the operating room at the hospital—there’s no room for error, and we only work at our highest levels to make sure each event is flawlessly executed to the best of our abilities. So I guess I like the intensity of ensuring a wedding day goes perfectly too?
My advice for Thistle Bee couples is to focus on the big picture of the day, and the people that mean the most in it. It’s easy to get lost in the details and the nuances of the day—the most important thing is that you trust your vendors and family and trust that everything will be okay!
