An elegant March wedding filled with timeless florals, heartfelt moments, and a celebration of love at Bear Brook Valley in Fredon Township, New Jersey.
Jose & Gerald’s Romantic Spring Wedding at Bear Brook Valley
Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. For Jose and Gerald, it all started with a swipe on Tinder during the spring of 2020. What began as early morning messages between two healthcare professionals navigating long hours quickly grew into a connection that neither of them could ignore.
After weeks of talking, they met in person just days after Gerald’s birthday. The chemistry was immediate, and only one week later they officially became boyfriends. Looking back, Jose describes it as “love at first swipe”—the beginning of a relationship that would eventually lead them to one of New Jersey’s most beautiful wedding venues, Bear Brook Valley.
On March 29, 2025, they celebrated that journey surrounded by family, lifelong friends, and loved ones who traveled from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to witness the beginning of their next chapter together.
A Wedding Day Built Around Family, Friendship & Love
After a thoughtful engagement, Jose and Gerald chose to plan their wedding on their own timeline, allowing them to enjoy every part of the process without unnecessary pressure.
They quickly fell in love with Bear Brook Valley, whose picturesque grounds, mountain views, and warm hospitality created the perfect setting for their celebration. From the moment guests arrived, every detail reflected the couple’s vision: timeless, welcoming, and centered around the people they love most.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was bringing together family from across the Caribbean and the United States. Having grandparents, relatives, and close friends all in one place made the celebration even more special, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.
A Celebration That Reflected Who They Are
Rather than following every wedding tradition, Jose and Gerald intentionally created a day that reflected their relationship.
Their wedding party beautifully represented the people who have supported them throughout their journey, with friends of all genders standing beside them. It was a reminder that weddings are about celebrating the people who have shaped your life—not simply following expectations.
Every moment throughout the day felt genuine, joyful, and uniquely theirs.
Spring Florals Inspired by the Natural Beauty of Bear Brook Valley
Nestled among rolling hills and scenic countryside, Bear Brook Valley provides a breathtaking backdrop for spring weddings.
For Jose and Gerald’s celebration, the floral design complemented the venue’s natural surroundings while embracing the freshness of the season. Thoughtfully designed arrangements added softness, texture, and elegance throughout the ceremony and reception, enhancing the venue’s rustic charm while allowing its architecture and landscape to shine.
Spring weddings have a way of feeling full of possibility, and every floral detail reflected that sense of renewal and celebration.
A Day Filled With Meaningful Moments
One of the most beautiful parts of Jose and Gerald’s wedding wasn’t found in a single detail—it was found in the emotion shared throughout the day.
From exchanging vows in front of family who had traveled hundreds of miles to celebrating on the dance floor with lifelong friends, every moment reflected the love and support that has surrounded their relationship since the beginning.
Their wedding wasn’t just about becoming husbands—it was about bringing together two families, honoring their cultures, and celebrating the journey that began with one simple swipe.
Advice for Future Couples
Jose shared advice that every engaged couple should hear:
“Plan your wedding on your own timeline and prioritize what makes you happy. Block out the outside noise and focus on creating a day that reflects who you are as a couple. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience—embrace the planning process, enjoy every milestone, and make memories you’ll cherish forever.”
We couldn’t agree more.
